Hey There! I am Christina and I am from Hawkinsville, Ga. It’s really small and everybody knows who you belong to! I am 17 and I will be graduating two weeks before the trip. I have an older brother (Kent) and older sister (Angela). Our family has been going through some rough times and recently there has been some light in the darkness. My dad lost his job after being a mill manager for 14 years. He didn’t have a job for 2 and half years and we have struggled with money a lot. Our house is for sale and basically everything else. After much dependence on the Lord, He has provided my dad with a job at our church and he also owns a newspaper here in town. The Lord is truly awesome! My mom is the most Godly and humble women I have ever met. My brother and I are like two peas in a pod! He is my best friend and he is married to a lovely women… my sister’s best friend. Haha. My sister is my greatest example of giving up everything to serve Him. Two years ago I really saw how it was to serve the Lord in a different world. She was a missionary in the Middle East for two years and I was able to visit her for two weeks and I fell in love with God all over again. To see how He was using her in an Arab world was absolutely great! I was able to share many “things” with the Arab women while my sister translated in Arabic. It was amazing!
I decided to go on a international trip so that I could get out of town and start this new chapter in my life off right. I really want to bet the stereo-typical high school graduate. That would be stay in Hawkinsville, go to all the parties, let your parents support you til your 30, and stay in your comfort zone without ever going outside the U.S. I have a heart for people and mostly children and young adults; they are our future. I could “write” your ears off but I thought that I would leave at that. Feel free to add me on facebook…
