Hey everyone! I’m Jennifer but everyone calls me Jen! I am so blessed to have the opportunity to serve with y’all this summer! I am so excited to get to know all of you and to be able to grow in my faith with y’all! I am 17 and am from a small town in Texas outside of Houston known as Cypress! I am so excited to enter my senior year and then graduate! I hope to become a Children’s Sociologist, which is basically a children’s social worker. I am very active in my church and used to run soundboard and sing for the youth band, but after a lot of prayer I felt led to help in the Children’s Ministry. I teach Sunday school and midweek every Wednesday night, which are usually elementary aged kids. I feel privileged to teach and share my faith with them, and through this have found that I learn just as much from them as they learn from me, if not more. I also play guitar and am a vocalist. I pretty much listen to music all the time, and for some reason have trouble falling asleep without it. Some of my favorite bands and artists are Damien Rice, Regina Spektor, Casting Crowns, and Glen Hansard. I also love reading, mostly classics, and I also love to write. I am really outgoing and love experiencing new cultures and meeting new people! I have been on a few mission trips in the past, three to New Orleans with my church, and one to Costa Rica with AIM last summer. All these experiences have changed my life. My favorite verse is Psalm 28:7- The LORD is my strength and my shield; My heart trusted in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart greatly rejoices, And with my song I will praise Him. Anyways, that is a little about me! I have enjoyed reading all of your bios and would love to get to know you more! Please feel free to facebook me!
In Christ,
Jen
